Through the years the Old Aztec Rugby Club has become an international men's club by incorporating players from throughout the United States to go along with its contingent of international players.
The Old Aztecs were recipients of two consecutive Southern California Second Division Championships in 1989 and 1990, and then moved into the first division. The Aztecs returned to the second division in 1993 and reached the Pacific Coast Semifinals that year. In 2010 the Old Aztecs returned to glory by going undefeated and winning the Second Division Championship once again. The club continued to improve in 2011 by going undefeated in league play and the divisional playoffs. Following a 1-1 record at the USA Rugby Men's DII Championships, the Old Aztecs completed the 2011 season ranked 3rd in the nation.
As one of several rugby clubs in San Diego, the Old Aztecs are able to play rugby year round. The highly competitive 15 man side is complimented by an outstanding 7's side. The Old Aztec Summer Invitational Sevens (O.A.S.I.S.) Tournament is held every year on the last weekend in June.
